Privacy

Short version: this website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking and loads nothing from other providers. Below is what happens with your data, why, and on which legal basis.

2. Hosting and server log files

This site is hosted by united-domains GmbH (Gautinger Straße 10, 82319 Starnberg, Germany). With every visit the web server processes the data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The log files are deleted automatically by the host after a short period. We have a data processing agreement with the host (Art. 28 GDPR).

3. Fonts

All fonts are served from this website itself. No connection to Google Fonts or any other font service is made.

4. Unicorn game and highscores

If you enter your initials after a round, the initials, your score and the date are stored on our server and shown publicly in the highscore list (top 10). Only enter initials, not your full name. To prevent abuse we keep a hashed, daily-changing pseudonym of your IP address for one hour (rate limiting); the IP address itself is not stored. Legal basis is your action of submitting the score (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in a fair list without spam (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Entries stay until they drop out of the list. Write to us if you want an entry removed.

5. Settings stored in your browser

Your best score and the sound on/off setting are saved in your browser's local storage (keys wk-best and wk-sound). They never leave your device. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you use (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

6. Contact by email

If you email us, we use your address and message to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for bookings and other inquiries about working together, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Our mailbox is hosted by Proton AG (Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland; the EU Commission has recognised Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection). We delete emails once they are dealt with, unless statutory retention periods require longer storage.

7. External links

Links to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) and other sites are plain links. Data is only transferred to these providers once you click them; then their privacy policies apply.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process data based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
