What is Wired Kimchi?
The name Wired Kimchi is derived from our artistic and technical philosophy and is composed of two contrasting elements:
Wired: This represents the technological component. We utilize a „DAW-less“ setup, meaning we forgo traditional computers (Digital Audio Workstations) during live performances. Instead, we work with a variety of physically interconnected synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines. That symbolizes the connection between human and machine.
Kimchi: This stands for the cultural and process-oriented component. Kimchi is a fermented dish where various ingredients mature together over time to develop a sharp, complex, and intense flavor. The collective applies this metaphor to their music: different genres (techno, pop, glam) and artists are „mixed together“ and fermented into a new, high-energy sound.
In short, the name describes an „electronically wired, bubbling blend“ of music and art.
Hyperlord Kynikos

Calmy Jane
- Owns an indipendent Art- and IT-label founded and maintained by Calmy Jane, committed to creating weird and wonderous stuff. Usually plays the drums with the TR-8S and funny samples on his custom piboy-based sampler.
